COBIT is a framework for the control and management of corporate information and technologies that supports the achievement of corporate goals. This one-day bridge course (COBIT5 – COBIT 2019) highlights the concepts, models and key definitions of the new framework and explains the differences between this new version of COBIT 2019 and COBIT 5.

Seminar participants will be introduced to the nature and structure of the COBIT framework, including the topics:

At the end of this workshop the participants can

  • Understand the context, benefits and main reasons for using COBIT as an information and technology governance framework
  • Comparing the key attributes of the updated COBIT framework with COBIT 5
  • Knowledge of the updated COBIT principles for the governance system
  • Describe the updated components of a governance system:
    • Governance and management objectives
    • Components of governance systems
    • Focal points (Focus Areas)
    • Design factors
  • Differences between the updated COBIT target cascade system and COBIT 5.
  • Differentiation of COBIT-based performance management based on maturity and capability perspectives.
  • Understand how to design a tailor-made governance system with COBIT
  • Describe the relationships between the COBIT design and implementation guidelines.
  • The key points of the COBIT business case.
  • COBIT 2019 and its embedding in the other key frameworks.
Requirements

Participants who want to complete the Foundation Bridge must have the COBIT 5 Foundation certificate.

Target Audience

All interested persons entrusted with the task of establishing a governance structure.

Especially all current holders of COBIT 5 Foundation certificates who are interested in the main differences between COBIT 5 and COBIT 2019.
